CAS-MPG Partner institute for Computational Biology
ˇˇ
Advances in biotechnology have created more and new large-scale data-sets which in turn require better integration of data-analysis, hypothesis-formation and experiments. To address this paradigm shift, a new institute ˇ°CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biologyˇ± is founded by the Max Planck Society and the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly. The procedures of the establishment of the institute as well as of the recruitment of the directors follow the model of the Max-Planck-Society.
The institute have 4 departments and 4 Independent Research Groups (each group 5 -10 scientists / postdocs / students) and allow further modification and growth. The Partner Institute will also work closely with experimental and biomathematics research institutes in China and Germany, as well as in other countries. The groups cover the diversity of the interdisciplinary research field. The institute has teaching and educational functions and will exchange students and scientists with the leading institutes in the field both in China and abroad to ensure the growth and future of the institute.
