|  About Us

At Paul-Gerson-Unna Research Group of Dermatogenomics, our goal is to understand the biology of skin and appearance related phenotypes and their implications in health. We approach this goal from a computational angle - by developing and integrating the state-of-the-art computational genomics and machine learning approaches, and by leveraging available big data resources from large-scale longitudinal cohorts. We currently have three research foci:

1. Developing and integrating computational approaches to quantify skin and appearance related phenotypes
2. Modeling and evaluating the impact of genetic and environmental factors on skin and appearance related phenotypes
3. Investigating the adaptation of skin and appearance related phenotypes in the context of human evolution
